School nutrition has become a more important subject in recent years.

There are many benefits to earning your SNA Certificate in School Nutrition. As the School Nutrition Association (SNA) explains, it both demonstrates a commitment to your profession and allows you to fulfill the latest job requirements.

Here are the three steps for earning your SNA certificate in school nutrition:

Step 1: Academic Experience and Requirement

The first step in earning your certificate is meeting the academic requirements. You can visit the School Nutrition Association's website for more detailed information.

Step 2: Documentation and Payment

The second step is to compile all of the copies of your documents. Make sure to use the specific checklist for the Certificate Level for which you are applying. After confirming that you have qualified for the particular Certificate level, make sure to complete and send the form. You should also submit the fee and documentation to the address that is on the form. Typically, it will take four to six weeks for the application to be processed.

Step 3: Celebrate!

After your application has been approved, the SNA will send you a Verification Letter with confirmation that you have earned your SNA Certificate in School Nutrition.

In addition to taking these three steps, there are some important facts to keep in mind. Those who earn their Certificate in School Nutrition have the certificate for a one-year period. In order to keep your certificate current, it is essential that you enroll in CEUs within your annual certificate period and also pay your yearly renewal fee.
